UV Micro utilizes a unique, one-of-a-kind process engineered and developed specifically for the purpose of sanitizing and cleaning mattresses.
There are several important steps to our mattress cleaning system, each targeting different ailments, but all working together toward the common goal of a cleaner sanitized mattress in your home.
There are three UV light wavelength categories: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. The UV-C wavelength is the germicidal wavelength. UV-C utilizes short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation that is harmful to microorganisms. This light is effective in destroying nucleic acids and breaking apart germ DNA. With their DNA broken, they can’t function or reproduce and the organism dies. UV-C that causes this germicidal effect is rare on Earth as our atmosphere blocks it. Warmth and moisture on and within a mattress creates a micro habitat which allows bacteria to stay alive and reproduce. Multiple studies have concluded that UV-C light can effectively penetrate pathogen cells and disrupt the DNA which renders them unable to continue with vital functions. Ultraviolet C light has been used effectively to disinfect not only surfaces, but also air and water for decades.
Equally important, our UV-C light does not get hot, so while it is extremely effective at killing germs, it will not hurt your mattress.
Removal of common stains and bodily secretions
Destruction of all infectious pathogens
Mattress cleaning involves the wet extraction (cleaning solution with water). This process leaves your mattress free of visible perspiration marks & stains, dust mite & bed bug eggs, larvae, excrement and of course the dust mites & bed bugs themselves. The extraction process also rids your mattress of dead skin, the primary food source of the dust mite and leaves your mattress in a much healthier state.
The result of the deep extraction process is a surface that is cleaned and deodorized. A thorough job of cleaning also means you won’t have to work as hard the next time around!
